How The Real Housewives Of Melbourne cast reacted to the announcement of season five

Who got excited, who played it cool? Who didn’t even share their feelings?

After such a long time between filming, the official announcement of The Real Housewives of Melbourne season five was huge news for fans around the country, who have all been wondering for months if they’d ever get to see a brand new series again.

The excitement was palpable when the announcement went out, not only from fans but also from some of the castmates from last season.

From those who posted with glee as soon as they heard, to the ‘wives who didn’t even make mention of it on their social media, here’s how the season four cast reacted to the announcement.

Jackie Gillies

The psychic medium posted excitedly to her followers as soon as the news broke, asking fans to tag their viewing buddy. The picture also featured co-star Janet Roach… could this mean that #Jacket will be back for season 5?

Janet Roach

After asking her followers who they thought should join the new season cast, Janet then posted this image below, with the cast of the Real Housewives of Sydney. She said, “It has been rumoured that the Sydney Housewives May join the Melbourne cast. That’s fine with us, we love these Sydney girls. Sorry it’s not a better photo xx”. Could we be seeing a Sydney/Melbourne mash-up?

Sally Bloomfield

The hotelier said, “Finally Season 5 of Housewives is back in 2020!! Who’s excited??? Who’s in, who’s out???” – which seems pretty cryptic, almost like she may not be participating again. However, the image that accompanied the post was taken in Mexico during season four, and Sally chose to crop out Gina, Lydia and Venus. This prompted fans to ask, “Are you telling us something?”

Venus Behbahani-Clark

She may have been overseas, but that didn’t stop Venus from making a post about the exciting news! “Ok…so I’ve received lots of messages regarding season 5 @rhomelbourne but I’m currently in USA and excited that you’re all excited! So I’ll join you NOW in excitement…wohooooo Bring it on.”

Lydia Schiavello

Never one to shy away from stirring the pot, Lydia shared a screen grab of the official announcement from Foxtel, with the caption, “Here it is…. the drama continues! Bring on 2020”. We really hope this means she will be back!

Gamble Breaux

So far, Gamble hasn’t made any mention of the returning series on her Instagram feed, with her last post being a couple of days before the announcement. She posted a picture of herself and husband, Rick at the Fleetwood Mac concert in Melbourne. We wonder what this silence means?

Gina Liano

Ah, Gina. Arguably the most infamous member of the RHOM cast! We have all been waiting for her response to the news (there’s certainly been a lot of ‘bring back Gina’ comments on our social media pages from fans!) but there’s been not a peep from the star as of yet. Her last post was from Father’s Day, a week before the season five news, where she posted a picture of herself with her very much-loved, late father.
