One of the OG Dance Moms girls since day dot, Chloe Lukasiak abruptly exited the show in the Season 4 finale, on the back of a showdown between her mum Christi, and dance teacher Abby Lee Miller. She said of the (unaired) incident;
“My old teacher mocked my [lazy] eye very bluntly; I was dealing with some serious health issues… After that happened my mom and I just kind of talked about it, and it didn’t seem right to go back.”
Now 16 years old, in her downtime Chloe became an active vlogger on Youtube (now with 1.3+ million subscribers), landed roles in the films Center Stage: On Pointe, and Cowgirl’s Story, and somehow found the time to write a book called Girl on Pointe: Chloe’s Guide to Taking on the World, filled with advice for finding confidence.
In the book, Chloe dishes that clashing with Abby was only the tip of the iceberg when it came to leaving Dance Moms, also revealing that show’s whirlwind schedule was massively stressful on all the girls.
But Chloe couldn’t stay away from her former dance team for long, and re-joined the cast mid-Season 7. Originally slated for a one-episode return, the Lukasiak ladies instead decided to sign on for another entire season, Chloe explaining;
“I felt like our story needed to be finished… The best thing I ever did was going back, because we got a lot of closure.”
She adds, “now I have a happy memory from “Dance Moms” rather than just bad and negative, and drama and ugly tears.”
