Supermodel Gigi Hadid has confirmed she and her ex-boybander beau, Zayn Malik are expecting their first baby together.
As previously written on Arena, reports surfaced suggesting the 25-year-old is pregnant. Just days after the speculation, on April 30, Gigi opened up about this exciting stage in her life while speaking to American TV host Jimmy Fallon.
Gigi admitted she and Zayn would have preferred to have made their baby announcement themselves – after a source close to them leaked the news to the press.
“Obviously we wish could have announced it on our own terms, but we’re happy and we’re grateful for everyone’s well wishes and support,” the mum-to-be said in a sneak peek from The Tonight Show.
“It was not bad news, I’m definitely happy to be able to be excited about it.”
The model also discussed how she is being impacted by Coronavirus lockdown. Gigi said that it was particularly good to be pregnant at the moment because she gets to spend her life remotely, giving her time to focus on her pregnancy.
“Especially during this time… It’s a nice silver lining to be able to be home and be together and really experience it day by day.”

Interestingly enough, Gigi has not yet confirmed the gender of her baby – but rumour has it she is expecting a baby girl.
Yolanda’s going to be a Grandmother
Her mum – and former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star – Yolanda Hadid, has since revealed that the new addition to their family is due in September.
While in an interview on Dutch celebrity news television show, RTL Boulevard, Yolanda said: “Of course we are so excited. I’m excited to become Oma [grandma] in September.”
“Especially after I lost my mom so recently. But this is the beauty of life, one soul leaves us and a new one comes in. We feel very blessed.”
A bittersweet time for the family indeed. Congratulations again to Gigi and Zayn!
