Apart from Abby Lee Miller herself, Maddie Ziegler has arguably become Dance Mom’s biggest breakout star.
Her departure at the end of Season 6 was bittersweet, but she has no regrets of stepping away from competitive dance, explaining:
“I just didn’t want to deal with all of the drama anymore. I’m happy I’ve moved on. I get to step out and do my own thing and be myself. But I am thankful for the experience, and I miss dancing with the girls.”
At just 11 years old, she shot to international stardom when she donned a choppy blonde wig and starred in Sia’s Chandelier music video, which has amassed a casual 1.6 BILLION views.
Now 14, Maddie is kept busy with zillions of projects, including being a best-selling author and all-round child prodigy. She recently penned a book, The Maddie Diaries, a memoir which made The New York Times’ Best Seller List after just a week in stores.
If you’re wondering what the heck a teenager could possibly fill an entire memoir with, let us stress again that Maddie has been busy since leaving Dance Moms. She’s launched her own clothing line, appeared on TV shows like Pretty Little Liars, and made her cinema debut in The Book of Henry alongside Naomi Watts.
She also has a full-time gig as Sia’s official muse, and is currently collaborating with her in Sia’s directorial debut, Sister, which she is filming with Kate Hudson.
