The couple has been married for 20 years and weathered many personal storms… but a new post from Joe reveals he is looking forward to the future.
Reports have been swirling over the internet that the Real Housewives of New Jersey stars have separated, but are not planning on getting a divorce any time soon.
According to a source close to the family, the family “are focused” on their four daughters and will do what they need to in order to keep the family unit close-knit.
If Joe’s recent cryptic posts on Instagram are anything to go by, he’s very much taking this opportunity for personal development and growth.
“Every next level of your life will demand a different you,” read his most recent post to Instagram, which had no caption, and was liked by Teresa. He also took to the social media platform four days prior to this post, with a message about moving on and holding onto the past.
“Life is too short to be angry. Life is too short to be resentful. Life is too short to hold on to the past. Life is too short not to love. Life is too short not to be happy. Life is too short not to forgive. Life is too short not to live our lives the way we want it,” the message reads. “Love life. Appreciate the people in it. Enjoy the present. Seize the moment. Life is worth living for, so let’s LIVE!”
Again, his wife, Teresa agreed with the sentiment, publicly commenting “very true”.
The pair have been very honest about their relationship woes, and in a special interview that aired on ARENA earlier this year, Teresa told Andy Cohen that she was not sure their relationship would continue if he was deported, which has since happened.
“We’re both two different people now. I don’t know, I’m not the same Teresa I was, and I know he’s not the same Joe,” Teresa said during the interview. “Like I told him, no matter what, I always want us to respect each other and I do love him as a person.”
A source now claims that the couple has decided to call it day. “They discussed their future when Teresa and the girls went to Italy in early November and they agreed that each had to move on. They are doing so amicably and very slowly,” said the source.
“Joe has been out on a few dates, Teresa has not. She has been too busy with the girls, with work obligations and taking care of her father. She is happy for Joe. They have been very friendly with one another and are very supportive of each other’s happiness. They still love one another, but as Teresa told Andy Cohen on the WWHL [Watch What Happens Live] special, they are separated by the Atlantic Ocean. Neither is interested in a long-distance relationship.”
Both Teresa and Joe have yet to comment publicly, but the Guidice family trip to visit Joe in Italy will be featured in the final episode of this season of RHONJ, airing in early 2020.
